Day 12 – A Link to the Past

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is without a doubt my favorite game of all time.  If I had to try and name the number of times I’ve played through it, I’d say it’s roughly 50.  A big part of that devotion may be the fact that it was the first Zelda game I had ever played, and play the shit out of it I did.

A story that I mention in this video is how I acquired the game.  Back when it first came out, I would rent it any chance I got.  Unfortunately, I rarely got to rent games, and even then I was only able to play them for a day.  Needless to say, I became obsessed with this game.  My mother picked up on the fact that it was basically a substance that I physically needed, and bought it for me for Christmas.  Unfortunately, she had bought it in May.  After weeks of hearing me go on and on about all the amazing shit in the game and how much I wanted to play it between rentings, she finally reached her limit.  On one amazing summer day, she basically just walked into my room, handed me the game, and asked me to shut the fuck up about it.  I had never loved her more than that moment.  That first day that I truly owned the game, I played it nonstop, until I had an eyestrain induced headache.  Then I played it a few hours more.

What I’m trying to say is I fucking love this game.

I wanted to show you all this game in it’s entirety via this last 12 Days of Link video, but unfortunately with the recording setup I have it’s a pretty unrealistic goal.  So instead I’ll just show you the Light World portion of the game, which is about a third of it.  Maybe someday I’ll have a ballin enough technical setup to show you everything you deserve to see.
